Fischers' on the Green, owned by David and Teresa Fischer, is located in the beautiful setting of the Hillcrest Country Club and is OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. Fischers' offers a classic Midwestern and Mediterranean-inspired menu - similar to that of the old White House – in an attractive contemporary setting. Walls of windows frame the neat green undulations of the fairway. On nice days before dusk, the dining rooms glow with a cheery warmth. Decoration is understated "English Manor" in burgundies, golds and greens, with oak–paneled walls. Hunting prints feature hounds, vigorous men and well–behaved vegetation. The rooms are elegant yet comfortable: good places to focus on friends and food. Meals at Fischers' start with popovers, and these may mesmerize you. The outside is shatteringly crisp; inside is a steaming hollow of soft, eggy richness. Add a sliver of the fresh sweet butter and you will have a little masterpiece.
